The City of Summerville is encouraging vendors to reserve their space now for the upcoming Hwy 27 Longest Yard Sale, set for August 6th through 8th at Dowdy Park.

While the popular event is still a few months away, officials say vendor spots are already available and expected to fill up quickly. Spaces are being offered for just five dollars per day, giving individuals a chance to clear out unused items and make extra money during one of the area’s busiest shopping events.

Dowdy Park, located in the heart of downtown Summerville, will serve as a central hub for shoppers traveling along Highway 27 during the multi-state yard sale event. Organizers say the location provides strong foot traffic and excellent visibility for vendors.

Those interested in securing a spot can contact the City of Summerville to request a vendor form and lock in their space ahead of time.

The Chattooga County FFA Plant Sale is continuing today at the greenhouse behind Chattooga High School, featuring special one-day deals for the community.

For today only, tomato plants are on sale for just $20 per flat as part of a Good Friday promotion. In addition, shoppers can pick up beautiful ferns for only $10 each.

The sale runs from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m., giving residents plenty of time to stop by, grab some spring plants, and support local agricultural students.

Organizers say the plant sale will pause next week for spring break but will resume on April 14.

The Chattooga County Young Farmers are inviting the community to come out and support local agriculture at a special Farm Stand Meet & Greet on Thursday, April 16 at 7:00 PM at the Chattooga County Ag Center.

The event will bring together local farm stand owners from across the county, giving them the opportunity to showcase their products, set up displays, and even offer items for sale. Attendees will be able to meet growers, learn more about what each farm stand offers, and find out where to purchase fresh, local goods.

Organizers say the evening will begin with a brief introduction before opening up time for guests to visit with vendors, ask questions, and make connections within the community.

February is more than just a bridge between winter and spring—it’s a season for connection, and Summerville Main Street is inviting the community to help “paint the town red” with the return of the “Live, Love, Local” Heart Project. Throughout the month of February, Downtown Summerville will be lined with personalized, heart-shaped messages designed to celebrate the people, places, and stories that make the community special.

Organizers say the project is a chance for everyone to share a message in a fun and visible way, whether it’s a shout-out to a favorite small business, a tribute to a loved one, a school celebration, or a note of encouragement for the community. Hearts can be purchased as a single-sided display for $30 or double-sided for $50, and orders can be placed by visiting the Summerville Main Street office at 179 Union Street.
