SMS FFA Plant Sale Set For April 15–18 In Summerville

Garden season is right around the corner, and Summerville Middle School’s FFA program is getting ready to help the community grow with its annual plant sale.

The SMS FFA Plant Sale will take place April 15 through April 17 from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. each day, with a special Saturday sale on April 18 from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m.

The sale will be held at the Summerville Middle School greenhouse, located at 200 Middle School Road.

Shoppers will find a wide variety of plants, including hanging baskets, petunias, succulents, herbs, ferns, and spider plants, along with a large selection of vegetables like tomatoes, squash, cucumbers, peppers, and melons.

Prices range from $1 plants and herbs to $15 hanging baskets, with bundle deals available on several items.

Organizers say the event is a great opportunity to support local students while picking up plants for spring gardens, landscaping, and outdoor spaces.

Chattooga FFA Plant Sale Continues With One-Day Good Friday Specials

The Chattooga County FFA Plant Sale is continuing today at the greenhouse behind Chattooga High School, featuring special one-day deals for the community.

For today only, tomato plants are on sale for just $20 per flat as part of a Good Friday promotion. In addition, shoppers can pick up beautiful ferns for only $10 each.

The sale runs from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m., giving residents plenty of time to stop by, grab some spring plants, and support local agricultural students.

Organizers say the plant sale will pause next week for spring break but will resume on April 14.

Vegetable Gardening Class Set for February 25 in Chattooga County

Residents interested in growing their own vegetables can take part in an upcoming Vegetable Gardening Class hosted at the Chattooga County Agricultural Center.

The class will be held February 25 at 6 p.m. at the Agricultural Center, located at 40 Middle School Road. Participants will learn about site preparation, soil fertility, planting practices, and more to help prepare for the upcoming growing season.

Those wishing to attend are asked to call 706-857-0744 to reserve a spot. Organizers note that the program is offered through UGA Extension – Chattooga County and is an equal opportunity event.
