Chattooga High School has released its athletic schedule for the week of March 16 through March 21, featuring several home and away competitions for baseball, soccer, tennis, and track and field.
The Summerville Parks and Recreation Department is celebrating an impressive run of success by its youth sports programs after sending four basketball teams to the Georgia Recreation and Park Association State Basketball Tournament this past weekend.
Chattooga High School has a full schedule of athletic events and activities planned for the week of March 8–14, according to Assistant Principal and Athletic Director J. Mark Turner.
The week begins Monday with JV Baseball hosting Ridgeland at 5:00 p.m. On Tuesday, the Track and Field team will compete at home at 4:00 p.m., while tennis plays Coosa at the Rome Tennis Center at 4:00 p.m. Later that evening, JV and Varsity baseball travel to Dade County at 5:00 p.m., and soccer teams travel to Coosa for a 5:30 p.m. match.
Thursday features several home events including soccer against Dade County at 5:00 p.m. at Ben Windom Stadium and JV and Varsity baseball hosting Dade County at 5:00 p.m. The CTAE Advisory Meeting and Dinner will also be held Thursday evening at 6:00 p.m. in the CHS Cafeteria.
On Friday, tennis hosts Model at the Rome Tennis Center at 4:00 p.m., soccer travels to Christian Heritage at 5:00 p.m., and JV baseball plays at Dade County at 5:30 p.m.
The week concludes Saturday with Varsity baseball traveling to North Sand Mountain for a noon game.
The Summerville 10U All-Star basketball team was disqualified from the District 5 Tournament prior to the championship game following a residency eligibility ruling, ending the team’s opportunity to compete for a district title and advance to state.
Summerville Parks and Recreation is currently seeking dedicated and dependable umpires and scorekeepers for the 2026 season. Officials say these positions are key to keeping games running smoothly and ensuring a positive experience for players, coaches, and families throughout the season.
This is a solid opportunity for anyone looking to make extra money during the week, including adults with flexible schedules, retirees, college students, or anyone interested in being involved with local youth sports. Summerville’s youngest gridiron standouts are heading back to Tifton with a state title on the line. The Summerville 8U and 12U football teams will play for the GRPA State Championship in Tifton, Georgia, this Saturday, December 13, after strong regional victories this past weekend—also in Tifton.
The GHSA has finalized its classifications and region alignments for the 2026–2028 reclassification cycle, and that locks in the football region landscape for Chattooga and Trion for the next cycle.
Chattooga High School standout Kadin Fife, one of Georgia’s top rising defensive linemen, has announced his commitment to the University of Tennessee. Fife, a senior for the Indians, made his decision public on Friday, November 21st, marking a major milestone in his recruitment and adding to Tennessee’s growing pipeline of talent from Northwest Georgia.
