Waves of rainfall are expected across Chattooga County and the rest of Northwest Georgia from today through Tuesday as a cold front and multiple disturbances move across the region. The first round of showers began early this morning, and additional periods of rain will continue throughout the day. Temperatures locally remain in the 40s and 50s, so no winter weather impacts are expected for our area.

Mostly cloudy skies settled over Chattooga County this morning with temperatures around 65 degrees, and today’s weather will continue to feel unusually warm for late November. A few passing showers are possible, mainly during the morning hours, but most of the day will remain dry with clouds lingering and highs climbing into the mid-70s. Tonight will stay mild, with temperatures dipping only into the low 50s.

Temperatures, already well above what is typical for late November, are expected to remain elevated through at least the middle of next week. In fact, several days may come close to setting new record highs as the region remains locked under stubbornly warm air.
