Teloga Fire Department Fundraiser

The Teloga Volunteer Fire Department is hosting its annual BBQ fundraiser, offering whole smoked pork butts for $45 each. This year, make Father’s Day easy and let the dedicated firefighters of Teloga cook up a memorable meal for your dad. Proceeds from the BBQ will directly support the Teloga Volunteer Fire Department, helping them purchase equipment and provide essential services to the community. Trion Memorial Day Event

The Town of Trion and the Trion Veterans Committee is asking the public to come out and honor our nation’s heroes this Memorial Day Weekend.  Coming up on Saturday, May 24th at 1 PM, there will be a program at the Trion Veterans Memorial, located at the Trion Track Field off Simmons Street in Trion to remember and honor those who have given their life in service to our country.

Tiny Tribe Cheerleading Camp Coming To Chattooga High School

Aspiring cheerleaders ages 3-13 are invited to join the Chattooga High School Cheerleading squad for a fun and engaging Tiny Tribe Cheerleading Camp, to be held July 10th and 11th at the Chattooga High School Gymnasium. The camp will run from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM each day, offering participants the chance to learn cheers, chants, and basic cheerleading skills from the experienced Chattooga High cheerleaders. Registration is open now and will continue until June 19th. The registration fee is $45 per child, with a $5 discount offered for siblings. Trion Fire Department Planning Fifth Annual Community Day In June

The Trion Fire Department is gearing up to host its 5th Annual Community Day on Saturday, June 7, 2025, from 10 AM to 3 PM at the Trion Pavilion at Track Field. This family-friendly event promises a day of fun, community spirit, and delicious food from Rosita’s. Beyond the festivities, the Fire Department is actively seeking vendors to participate and showcase their goods or services at the event. Spaces are available, including opportunities for all types of non-food vendors. Interested vendors are encouraged to contact Captain Brannon Martin for more information and to secure their spot. Trion High Softball To Host Youth Camp This June

Aspiring softball stars between the ages of 5 and 12 are invited to hone their skills at the Trion High Softball Youth Camp, taking place June 2nd and 3rd from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM. The camp, held at the J.W. Greenwood Athletic Complex/THS Softball Field, promises fundamental teaching and practice in key softball skills including hitting, throwing, pitching, fielding, and baserunning. Rain or shine, young athletes will receive expert instruction to improve their game. The cost of the camp is $30 per camper, which includes a camp t-shirt. Participants are asked to bring their own water bottle, bat, and glove. Early registration is encouraged! Sign up by May 15th to guarantee your camper receives a t-shirt. BATTLE AT THE BIGHORN Baseball Tournament Coming to Summerville

The Summerville Rec Center is hosting the “Battle at the Bighorn” All-Star Recreation Tournament on May 30th and 31st. Formerly known as “Rumble by the River,” this tournament promises a weekend of exciting baseball action for young athletes. The tournament will feature divisions for 6U Co-ed and 8U & 10U Boys Baseball. Importantly, the competition is geared towards Recreation teams only, with no select teams permitted to ensure a level playing field and a fun, competitive environment for all participants. Teams interested in participating can register for a team entry fee of $75. GRPA (Georgia Recreation and Park Association) rules will apply. Friday Night Live Returns This Week To Downtown Summerville

The City of Summerville, in collaboration with Summerville Main Street and Reece Tires, is thrilled to announce the return of Friday Night Live with a free downtown concert featuring the Kevin Allen Band (KAMP). Mark your calendars for Friday, May 9, 2025, from 8 PM to 10 PM and head to the open air pavilion on East Washington Street for a night of fantastic music under the stars. KAMP, also known as the Kevin Allen Band, promises a performance that will have you tapping your feet and dancing the night away. Attendees are encouraged to bring their own lawn chairs as seating will be limited. Summerville Main Street also recommends supporting local businesses by enjoying dinner at one of Downtown Summerville’s restaurants before the concert. A selection of vendors will also be on-site for your convenience. In case of inclement weather, the concert will be moved inside the historic Summerville Depot, ensuring the show will go on regardless of the elements.

Miss Chattooga Pageant Marking 75th Anniversary

Get ready for a dazzling celebration as the Miss Chattooga County Pageant marks its 75th Anniversary – a Diamond Jubilee! This year promises to be extra special, with new divisions to honor the pageant’s history and celebrate the women of Chattooga County. Organizers are excited to introduce the “Miss Legacy Chattooga County” and “Miss Forever Chattooga County” divisions, open to women ages 25+ who live in Chattooga County and all former winners, respectively. The deadline for entries is Thursday, May 15th, 2025! Late entries will not be accepted. There are three ways to submit the entry fee: in person at the CHS front office, at the CHS cafeteria on May 15th from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm, or online via GoFan. Annual Chattooga County Plant / Seed Swap This Saturday

Organizers are planning the 5th Annual Chattooga County Plant Swap, set to take place on Saturday, May 3rd, from 2 PM to 6 PM at Teloga Springs Farm. This popular local event, known for its vibrant community atmosphere and diverse range of plants is open to the public and anyone interested in gardening is invited to attend.  In addition to the plant and seed swap, there will be local vendors and food vendors as well. The Chattooga County Plant Swap offers free admission, making it a perfect opportunity for families, gardening aficionados, and food lovers alike.  The event is held at 6327 Trion Teloga Road in the Teloga Community.

Future Rangers Wanted! James H. “Sloppy” Floyd State Park Announces Jr. Ranger Camp Dates

Budding outdoor enthusiasts ages 6-12 are invited to immerse themselves in nature this summer at the James H. “Sloppy” Floyd State Park’s Jr. Ranger Camp. Two exciting sessions are scheduled for June 12th-13th and July 14th-15th, offering a fun and educational experience for young nature lovers. For a registration fee of $45, campers will spend two action-packed days alongside Park Rangers, learning valuable outdoor skills and discovering the park’s diverse ecosystem. Activities include archery basics, a chance to try their hand at fishing, and engaging lessons about the varied wildlife that calls the park home. The Jr. Ranger Camp runs from 8:30 AM to 4:00 PM each day.  A second Jr. Ranger Camp for ages 13-15 will be held on June 23, 2025 from 8:30 AM until 4:00 PM. It’s a fantastic opportunity for children and teens to connect with nature, develop new skills, and learn about conservation in a fun and supportive environment.
