Trion Youth Football Camp Coming In July

Aspiring young football players between the ages of 5 and 12 are invited to hone their skills at the annual Trion Football Youth Camp, taking place July 16th, 17th, and 18th from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM at Sam R. McCain Stadium. The camp offers a fantastic opportunity for young athletes to receive expert coaching, participate in drills, and learn from Trion Football coaches and players. Participants will develop fundamental football skills in a fun and engaging environment. “The last few years have been incredible, and we can’t wait for this year’s group,” stated a representative from Trion Football. “We’re excited to work with the next generation of Trion Football players and help them develop a love for the game.” The cost to attend the camp is $30 per camper, which includes a Trion Football t-shirt. Payment and registration will be accepted on the day of the camp at the stadium. Cash or checks will be accepted. Checks should be made payable to Trion Football. “Pink Houses” In Concert Next Friday In Trion

A concert that was postponed last month due to inclement weather will be happening next week at the Trion Recreation Department.  “Pink Houses” is a high-energy tribute band dedicated to the legendary music of John Mellencamp. Expect to hear all your favorite Mellencamp classics, from “Jack & Diane” to “Hurts So Good,” in a live stage show next Friday, June 13th,  that will have you singing and dancing along. Food and drinks will be available for purchase from Trion Parks & Recreation throughout the evening.  The event is free and is sponsored by the Town of Trion and the Trion Recreation Department.

Chattooga County 4-H Offers “Into the Wild” Summer Camping Adventure

Chattooga County 4-H is offering an overnight camping experience for students aged 11-17. The “Into the Wild” Summer Camp will be on Friday, July 11th, and Saturday, July 12th at Sloppy Floyd State Park Pioneer Camp. For $20 per child, participants will learn survival skills, take a guided hiking tour, identify plants, and cook outdoors. Campers will also enjoy fishing, a bonfire with songs, and crafts. Parents can drop off their children at 11:00 AM on Friday, July 11th and pick them up at 9:00 AM on Saturday, July 12th. Spots are limited, so register today! Chattooga 4H Annual Peach Sale

The University of Georgia Extension in Chattooga County is holding its annual Freestone Peach Sale to raise funds for local 4-H programs. For over ten years, Chattooga County 4-H has worked with Dickey Farms, a family-owned business since 1897, to provide fresh South Georgia peaches. This year’s sale is ongoing until June 30th, with a box of about 25 lbs. of peaches available for $40. These peaches are great for eating fresh or making jams. Orders will be delivered from July 7-9, and customers should order quickly due to limited quantity.
