Food Distribution Set for Saturday in Teloga Area

A free food distribution is scheduled for Saturday, February 21, at Beersheba Presbyterian Church in the Teloga community.

The event will take place from 10 a.m. until noon and will be first come, first served. Organizers say the distribution is open to those in need while supplies last.

The food distribution is being offered by Helping Hands End Hunger in partnership with the Atrium Health Floyd–Polk Foundation. Additional support is being provided by the Teloga Community, Teloga Fire Department, Teloga Springs Farm, and Beersheba Presbyterian Church.

“Country Democrats Rising” Event Set for February 21 in Walker County

 

A political and community event titled “Country Democrats Rising” is scheduled for Saturday, February 21, from noon to 2 p.m. at the Walker County Ag Center located at 10052 North Highway 27 in Rock Spring. Organizers describe the gathering as a mix of political discussion, entertainment, and music.

The event will feature comedian Corey Ryan Forrester, also known as the “Redneck Liberal,” along with appearances by local and congressional candidates, including U.S. Congressional candidate Shawn Harris and Public Service Commission candidate Peter Hubbard. A cornbread and chili lunch is also planned for attendees, along with live country music from Abston/Mast Trio.

Tickets are priced at $30 for adults, $25 for seniors, and $15 for youth ages 16 to 30, with organizers noting the event is for adults only. Prepaid tickets are available online through ActBlue.

Heart Health Month Lunch & Learn Set for February 23 in Summerville

The Chattooga County Chamber of Commerce has partnered with AdventHealth to host a Heart Health Month Lunch & Learn on Monday, February 23, 2026, from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. The event will be held at 10050 Commerce Street in Summerville and is open to the public.

Organizers say the Lunch & Learn will focus on heart health awareness and prevention, with Dr. Himanshu Patel, MD serving as the guest speaker. The catered lunch is sponsored by AdventHealth, and attendees will have the opportunity to learn more about maintaining heart health while connecting with local professionals.

Trion Cruise In Brings Cars, Trucks, and Bikes to Downtown Trion March Through October

Car enthusiasts across Chattooga County and Northwest Georgia are invited to shine up their rides and show them off during The Trion Cruise In, returning for its monthly run from March through October.

The event is held on the second Saturday of each month from 10 AM until 2 PM at the Trion Recreation Center, located at 90 Dalton Street. The Cruise In welcomes cars, trucks, rat rods, and motorcycles, offering free admission for spectators and no entry fee for participants.

Sourdough Bread Class Set for February 15 in Summerville

Residents in Chattooga County will have the opportunity to learn the art of sourdough baking this weekend at a free, hands-on class in Summerville.

The Summerville Seventh-day Adventist Church is hosting a Sourdough Bread Class on Sunday, February 15 at 4 p.m. The class will be held at the church, located at 1759 Highway 114 in Summerville.

Organizers say the beginner-friendly class will teach participants how to make a classic sourdough loaf from scratch. Each attendee will receive a sourdough starter to take home, allowing them to continue baking after the class.

The event is free and open to the public, but organizers ask that attendees RSVP in advance so enough starters can be prepared. Friends are welcome to attend.

Red Cross Blood Drive Friday at The Bank of LaFayette

The Bank of LaFayette will host a community blood drive with Blood Assurance on Friday, February 13, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at 101 W. Patton Street in LaFayette.

Community members are encouraged to give local and help save local lives. All donors between February 1–14 will receive a special “Donor for Life” tattoo shirt as a thank-you gift.

To prepare for donation, donors are asked to eat a good meal, drink extra water, avoid energy drinks, and bring a valid ID.

Chattooga County Dairy Heifer Show Set for Feb. 14 at Ag Center in Summerville

Chattooga County residents are invited to come out and support local student livestock projects during The Chattooga County Dairy Heifer Show, set for Saturday, February 14, 2026, at the Chattooga County Agricultural Center in Summerville.

Organizers say the event is open to the public and is aimed at showcasing and encouraging the county’s dairy exhibitors. Concessions will be available, and cow patty bingo squares will be sold during the event. Cow patty bingo begins at 12 p.m., and the winner will receive $150.

The Chattooga County Agricultural Center is located at 40 Middle School Road in Summerville.
