The Chattooga County Library will host a Homeschool Science Fair on Monday, March 30, 2026, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.

The event, presented by the Sara Hightower Regional Library System, will take place at the library located at 360 Farrar Drive in Summerville. The science fair is part of the library’s Homeschool Adventure class, and the public is invited to attend and view student experiments.

Poultry Project 2026 Sign-Ups Set for March 7 at Chattooga County Agricultural Center

Local students can get involved in 4-H style summer learning with Poultry Project 2026, with sign-ups scheduled for Saturday, March 7 at 9:00 a.m. at the Chattooga County Agricultural Center, 40 Middle School Road.

Organizers say students who participate will purchase eight chicks to raise through the summer, then bring them to the Chattooga County Agricultural Fair on the last weekend in August. During the fair, students will select their best three birds to compete in the poultry show and take part in the auction.

Run for the Trees: “Happy Little 5K” Encourages Outdoor Fun While Supporting Georgia’s Forests

Friends of Georgia State Parks & Historic Sites is inviting outdoor enthusiasts to take part in the Run for the Trees: Happy Little 5K, a Bob Ross-inspired virtual event scheduled for April 18–26, 2026. Participants can complete 3.1 miles anywhere outdoors—running, walking, hiking, rolling, biking, skating, or paddling—at their own pace and in the location of their choice.

Locally, the event is being highlighted by the Friends of Sloppy Floyd State Park in Summerville, who encourage residents to take advantage of nearby trails and natural spaces while supporting conservation efforts. The Chattooga Public Library has announced its annual Royal Ball, set for March 14th, 20th, and 21st, 2026, with festivities beginning at 5:30 PM each evening. Families are invited to “join the princesses” for food, fun, and dancing.

Chattooga County 4-H Invites Youth to Join Poultry Judging Team

Chattooga County 4-H is inviting youth to take part in its Poultry Judging Team, offering a fun and educational opportunity to learn more about the poultry industry.
