A gloomy start across Northwest Georgia will give way to a much more comfortable weather pattern today as a front slowly pushes through the region.
Daily rain and thunderstorm chances will remain in the forecast through Tuesday, with a noticeable shift toward drier and cooler conditions expected by the middle and end of the week.
Forecasters say a Marginal Risk for severe weather remains in place through tonight for parts of north Georgia, including areas that could be impacted by a weakening line of storms moving in from the north. The main concern will be a low-end risk for strong to damaging wind gusts, especially if the storm complex is able to hold together as it moves southward.
Northwest Georgia residents can expect a few scattered showers and thunderstorms Monday before a stretch of cooler, drier weather settles into the region through midweek.
Rain will continue pushing out of Northwest Georgia this morning as a cold front moves away from the region. Behind it, high pressure will build in across Tennessee and North Georgia, bringing drier and cooler conditions through Friday.
