Trion Football will host a youth football camp June 3, 4, and 5 at Sam R. McCain Stadium.
The camp is open to children ages 5 through 12 and will run each evening from 6:00 p.m. until 7:30 p.m.
Participants will receive skills, drills, and instruction from Trion coaches and players, giving young athletes a chance to learn fundamentals and improve their game.
The cost is $30 per camper, which includes a t-shirt. Payment and registration will be accepted the day of camp at the stadium. Cash or checks will be accepted, with checks made payable to Trion Football.
The community is invited out today for the 1st Annual Lucky Charm Cheer Classic, a cheerleading competition and fundraiser benefiting Georgia Elite Allstars and Trion High School Cheerleading.
The event will take place today, Sunday, March 22, at 2 p.m. in the Trion High School gymnasium.
The competition will feature recreation, performance, school, and all-star cheer and dance teams from across the region. Organizers say 21 teams and more than 200 athletes from surrounding counties are expected to compete, making for an afternoon filled with energy, entertainment, and community spirit.
Proceeds from the event will help support athlete development, competition opportunities, uniforms, and other program needs for both organizations.
Event organizer Tashia Knapp says the goal is to provide athletes with a fun opportunity to perform while also strengthening local cheer programs. She says community support for the event has been overwhelming.

According to the job description, the employee will assist with program registrations, scheduling, financial processing, marketing, and front-desk customer service, while also helping organize leagues, tournaments, camps, and special events. The role is primarily office-based but may also involve work at recreation facilities, athletic fields, and community events, including some evening or weekend hours.
Applicants must have a high school diploma or GED, and experience in administrative support, customer service, or recreation program administration is preferred. Experience with recreation registration systems, event coordination, or youth sports programs is also considered beneficial.
