The Walker County Historical Society is inviting the community to step into a classic Northwest Georgia Christmas with the annual Marsh House Candlelight Tours, scheduled for December 13, 14, 20, and 21, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. each evening.
Chattooga County is reflecting on sacrifice and service this weekend, following the burial of the last remaining World War II veteran in the county.
Funeral services will be held today for Mr. DeForest “Brimp” Warren, recognized as Chattooga County’s final surviving World War II veteran. Warren, 101, of Summerville, died Saturday, November 29th, at his residence.
The Walker County Historical Society will hold its regular monthly meeting today at 3:00 p.m. at the historic Marsh House. This gathering also serves as the Society’s annual business session, which includes the election of officers for the upcoming year.
