Chattooga County Delivers Strong Republican Wins In Both Runoff Races

Chattooga County voters delivered decisive Republican victories in both of Tuesday’s special election runoff races, with Clay Fuller winning the U.S. House District 14 contest and Lanny Thomas capturing the Georgia State Senate District 53 seat. Official Georgia results show Fuller won Chattooga County with 2,546 votes, or 69.81 percent, compared to 1,101 votes, or 30.19 percent, for Democrat Shawn Harris. In the Senate race, Thomas defeated John Bentley “Jack” Zibluk with 2,686 votes, or 74.38 percent, to 925 votes, or 25.62 percent.

Walker County Authorities Seek Public’s Help Finding Stolen Box Truck

The Walker County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help after a 2014 Freightliner 26-foot box truck was reported stolen from a residence on Mustang Street in Rossville.

According to authorities, the truck was taken on Wednesday, March 11, 2026. The vehicle is described as a white box truck with Mack Freight” written in blue lettering on the doors and displaying Georgia tag WMN594.

Prison-Based Methamphetamine Ring Members Sentenced

U.S. Attorney’s Office for The Northern District Of Georgia Collects Over $108 Million in Civil and Criminal Actions in Fiscal Year 2016

Thirteen members of a prison-based methamphetamine distribution ring have been convicted and sentenced following a multi-year federal investigation. Authorities say state inmates Edward Kelvin Pope, David Wilson, and Kevin Josue Campos Rivera coordinated drug trafficking operations from Central State Prison in Macon, working with federal inmate Jose Santos Isaola Cisneros at the Federal Correctional Institution in Atlanta to distribute methamphetamine through couriers and distributors across north Georgia. Pope, known as “Paw Paw,” was already serving a life sentence plus 70 years for armed robbery, kidnapping, and other violent crimes at the time of the offenses.
