Trion To Host Prodigy Disc Golf Tournament May 3rd

Get ready to tee off! Prodigy Events and Trion will be hosting the “Trion to Ace IV” PDGA-sanctioned C-Tier disc golf tournament on May 3, 2025, hosted by the Trion Recreation Department. This two-round, shotgun-start event will challenge players on a 12-hole course with a par of 3, totaling 250 feet. The tournament promises a day of friendly competition and beautiful scenery. Entry fee is $45 per player, which includes a player’s pack featuring two custom-stamped Prodigy discs. Awards will be presented following the completion of the second round. The event offers on-site parking and bathroom facilities. Lunch will be available for purchase from the Trion Recreation Department. Easter Bunny Hopping Back To Sloppy Floyd State Park

The Friends of Sloppy Floyd are thrilled to announce the return of a beloved springtime tradition! On April 19th, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM, the Easter Bunny will be making a special appearance at James H. “Sloppy” Floyd State Park, ready to pose for photos with park visitors. Bring your camera and head to the park office to capture a memorable moment with everyone’s favorite long-eared friend. This is a fantastic opportunity to create lasting memories for the whole family amidst the beautiful scenery of Sloppy Floyd State Park. Don’t miss out on this egg-cellent event! The Friends of Sloppy Floyd State Park are inviting outdoor enthusiasts to explore the park’s fascinating history and unique geology on a guided hike to the Marble Mine on April 5th at 10:00 AM. This moderately strenuous 1.5-mile hike, led by park rangers, will delve into the geological wonders and rich history of Sloppy Floyd State Park. Participants will learn about the formation of the park’s iconic landscape while venturing along the Marble Mine Trail. Hikers should meet the rangers at the park office before embarking on this informative and engaging trek. Participants are advised to wear comfortable shoes and bring plenty of water for the journey. Chattooga Indian Football Meeting April 16th

Parents and guardians of Chattooga Indian football players are expected to attend a crucial meeting on Wednesday, April 16th, at 6:00 PM in the Chattooga High School (CHS) Cafeteria. The meeting will cover important program information related to the upcoming 2025 season. Chattooga Indians Football program staff will be on hand to discuss key topics including summer and fall schedules, fundraising initiatives, and team rules and expectations. Players, parents, or legal guardians are strongly encouraged to attend to ensure everyone is informed and prepared for the season ahead. The meeting will provide an opportunity to ask questions and learn more about the program’s goals for 2025. This meeting marks an important step towards a successful year for Chattooga Indian Football.

Chattooga Special Olympics Coming April 9th

Mark your calendars for April 9, 2025, as Chattooga County will host its annual Special Olympics, showcasing the talents of local athletes. The event will begin at 9 AM at Buddy Windle Field, the Chattooga High School Football Field. The community is invited to support these individuals as they compete. Parents, guardians, and guests are requested to sit in the away side bleachers. Kona Ice will be available starting at 9:30 AM. The Chattooga County School District welcomes everyone to participate and enjoy this day.

More Details On 2025 Chattooga FFA Plant Sale

From Chattooga FFA Director David Yarbrough:

We would like to invite everyone to the CHS greenhouse next Thursday and Friday (March 27 & 28) to kick off this year’s greenhouse sale from 8 am – 5 pm.

The greenhouse is located behind CHS. Turn in at the bus loading drive next to the tennis courts and continue past the wrestling room through the black gate in the back. The greenhouse will be in view to the right after entering through the black gate.

Trion City Schools has released enrollment information for the upcoming 2025-2026 school year. Parents of students in grades 1-12 are encouraged to complete the online enrollment process by the deadline of March 26, 2025.
