Trion High School is reminding families that April 1 is the last day to submit 2026-2027 enrollment forms and tuition.
Chattooga High School is recognizing senior Kasen Elsberry after he was named a recipient of the Dolores Hardison-Hayes Spirit Award.
School officials said Elsberry, who participates in the school’s Work-Based Learning program, was nominated by Work-Based Learning Coordinator Lisa Hughes for his dedication, strong work ethic, and commitment to success both inside and outside the classroom.
The Dolores Hardison-Hayes Spirit Award honors outstanding work-based learning students who reflect the mission of connecting students, schools, and businesses to help build a strong and skilled workforce. Kasen is one of only three students selected to receive the honor.
One of the three award recipients will ultimately be chosen to receive a $5,000 scholarship. Chattooga High School said it is proud of Elsberry’s accomplishment and wished him the best as the final scholarship announcement approaches.
Trion City Schools has released its 2026-2027 school calendar, outlining key dates for students, parents, and staff for the upcoming academic year.
The school year will begin on July 30, 2026, following pre-planning for teachers scheduled July 27-29. The calendar includes several scheduled breaks, including Fall Break October 5-9, Thanksgiving Break November 23-27, and Christmas Break December 21 through January 1, with students returning on January 5.
Spring semester highlights include Spring Break April 5-9 and multiple professional learning and student holiday dates throughout the year. Early release days are scheduled for December 17-18, 2026, and May 19-20, 2027.
The last day of school is set for May 20, 2027, with graduation scheduled for May 21, 2027.
School officials encourage families to review the full calendar and plan ahead for holidays, breaks, and important academic dates.
Young entrepreneurs in Chattooga County are being recognized for their innovation and hard work through the Chattooga County Chamber of Commerce’s FLEX program.

Trion Elementary School is seeking applicants to fill two paraprofessional positions for the 2026–2027 school year.
The positions are based at Trion Elementary School and involve assisting teachers and supporting elementary students in the classroom.
According to the posting, candidates must have at least a high school diploma or GED and meet one of the following qualifications:

Hold an associate’s degree or higher from a Georgia Professional Standards Commission (GaPSC) accepted accredited institution with at least 60 semester hours of college coursework, or

Pass the GACE Paraprofessional Assessment.
