Families eager for some autumnal spooky fun will get another opportunity to experience the annual Halloween Hayrides at Sloppy Floyd State Park this coming weekend, after uncooperative weather forced the postponement of last weekend’s planned event.
Chattooga County residents are encouraged to secure their tickets immediately for the annual “Breakfast with Santa” event, a popular holiday fundraiser benefiting the Chattooga 4-H program. This cherished community tradition, organized through a partnership involving the UGA Extension and the Chattooga County Farm Bureau, will take place on Saturday, December 6th.
In November 2025, Chattooga County will once again set aside time to express its profound gratitude to those who have served, with the annual Veterans Day Luncheon serving as a focal point for community and commemoration. This year’s event, scheduled for Tuesday, November 11, 2025, at 12:00 PM, promises a special tribute to Vietnam War era veterans, in addition to honoring all local servicemen and women.
Join Chattooga High School FCA and Trion High School FCA for “Fields of Faith” on Wednesday October 22nd at 6:30 pm at Chattooga’s Little Big Horn Stadium. Fields of Faith is a student-led event. Michael Lee Stancil will be the guest speaker and music will be led by student FCA leaders.

Speak Life, a dedicated special needs support group, is joining forces with Spring Creek Baptist Church to present the “Path of Praise” event, a celebration designed for all ages and abilities. The Subligna Community Center will he hosting their annual pancake breakfast fundraiser this Saturday. The event raises money for the upkeep of the community center that hosts community events in the Subligna area. The community center, once the gymnasium for Subligna School, will be the location for the fundraiser on Saturday, October 18th from 8 AM until 10 AM. Everyone is invited to attend and help support the Subligna Community Center. The building is located just past Subligna Baptist Church off of Gore-Subligna Road. The Round Robin Sports Card Show will take place on Saturday, October 18th, at the Summerville Recreation Center. Running from 9 AM to 4 PM, the show will feature a variety of trading cards, including baseball, basketball, and football cards, as well as Pokémon and Magic: The Gathering cards. It’s a great opportunity for seasoned collectors to find missing items, newcomers to start their collections, and families to enjoy the hobby together. From 9:30 AM to 12:30 PM, the parking lot of the Fit Pit Gym, conveniently located beside the Gyro Car Wash on Highway 27, will be transformed into a treasure trove of affordable goods.
The Chattooga County Young Farmers are hosting their annual Scholarship BBQ Fundraiser on October 24, 2025, to support future agricultural leaders in the community. The BBQ lunch costs $7 and includes a BBQ sandwich, chips, and dessert. They are also seeking donations of homemade desserts to enhance the meals. For convenience, delivery is available for large orders, encouraging participation from businesses and schools. Proceeds will fund scholarships for high school seniors pursuing higher education in agriculture, with a focus on supporting children or grandchildren of current Young Farmer members.
