According to a police report, officers were dispatched to the 100 block of Stevens Street around 12:48 p.m. on March 2, 2026 in reference to a burglary complaint. The resident told police a neighbor reported seeing someone inside a carport storage closet on a previous date.

The case has been documented and forwarded for further investigation.

Daylight Saving Time Begins This Weekend; Clocks Spring Forward Sunday

Daylight Saving Time returns this weekend, meaning residents across Chattooga County and Northwest Georgia will need to set their clocks forward one hour before heading to bed Saturday night.

At 2:00 a.m. on Sunday, clocks will “spring forward” to 3:00 a.m., giving us more daylight in the evening hours but one less hour of sleep.

The time change marks the unofficial start of longer, brighter days leading into spring and summer. While many people welcome the extended evening daylight, the adjustment can temporarily disrupt sleep schedules.

Health experts recommend going to bed a little earlier in the days leading up to the change, limiting screen time before bed, and getting morning sunlight on Sunday to help reset your internal clock.

Fire officials also remind residents that the time change is a good opportunity to check smoke alarm and carbon monoxide detector batteries to ensure they are working properly.

Daylight Saving Time will remain in effect until Sunday, November 1, 2026, when clocks “fall back” one hour.
