Subway Locations Earn Perfect Health Inspection Scores in Late January Checks

Two Subway locations in Chattooga County received perfect scores in the latest round of health inspections released by the Chattooga County Environmental Health Department for the last half of January 2026.

SUBWAY 13814 at 9880 Commerce Street earned a score of 100 on its January 29, 2026 inspection.

SUBWAY 33504 at 13427 Highway 27 also received a 100 on its January 22, 2026 inspection. Both locations are permitted as food service establishments in Chattooga County.

Should you ever have a complaint about any food service or tourist accommodation operating in Chattooga County, you may register that complaint by calling the Chattooga County Environmental Health Department at 706-857-3377.

The two Subway locations were the only health inspections reported for the last half of January.

Final Day for Summerville Spring Sports Registration is Today

Today marks the final day for Spring Sports Registration for the 2026 season through Summerville Parks and Recreation.

Online registration is open through the end of the day today, Sunday, February 1 at www.summervillerec.org.

Sports offered for the spring season include Tee-Ball, Baseball, Softball, and Volleyball.

Officials also remind parents that the Georgia Recreation and Parks Association (GRPA) has updated its age control date for baseball and softball. Player ages for those sports will now be determined based on age as of June 30, 2026.

Summerville Parks and Recreation encourages families to complete registration before the deadline and review the updated age guidelines prior to signing up.

Early Head Start Hiring Two Teacher Positions in Chattooga County

The Family Resource Agency of North Georgia Head Start/Early Head Start/Pre-K Program is accepting applications for two Early Head Start Teacher positions at the Chattooga Head Start/Early Head Start location. The start date will be determined later, and the positions are full-time at 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, with no weekends, totaling 1,976 annual hours.
